Biographical Sketch: Cooper is a magna cum laude graduate of The University of Texas with a double bachelorís in communications science and disorders and Hispanic linguistics. She received a masterís degree from UT in speech-language pathology and has extensive experience in developing, conducting and presenting clinical research projects. She spent four years in speech pathology in acute care, outpatient rehabilitation and public education facilities. Cooper has also previously worked as a research specialist at a hospital association where she managed programs in patient safety and quality improvement. At the Texas Health Institute, Cooper performs qualitative and quantitative analysis for research projects that examine policies related to diverse and/or vulnerable populations in areas such as health care reform and emergency preparedness. She currently is pursuing a Ph.D. in epidemiology at The University of Texas School of Public Health where her research interests include health disparities and evidenced-based practices in rehabilitation.
