Biographical Sketch:
Lauren Jahnke has been a freelance health policy consultant and researcher/writer since 1997, working mainly on state and federal health care issues including Medicaid and Medicare policy, the uninsured, public health and local health departments, mental health care, U.S.-Mexico border health, cross-border health insurance, federal health care reform, and health care disparities. She is currently working with the Texas Health Institute on a grant-funded project led by Dr. Dennis Andrulis involving research and reporting on the implementation of the federal health care reform provisions on cultural and linguistic competency. Lauren has a Masterís degree in Public Affairs (from the LBJ School of Public Affairs) and a B.A. in Biology, both from The University of Texas at Austin.
