Biographical Sketch: Ms. Goode is the Director of the National Center for Cultural Competence. She has developed initiatives/programs to facilitate the design, implementation, and evaluation of cultural and linguistic competency that address the needs of diverse audiences (e.g. health care, mental health, community organizations, professional societies, institution of higher education). She is recognized as a thought leader in the area of cultural and linguistic competency had a primary role in: creating four instruments and protocols to assess organizational cultural and linguistic competency and a checklist series for professionals in the health, mental health, and education fields; conceiving and writing a curricula enhancement module series for leadership education for health professionals; developing the Policy Brief Series that delineates organizational policy and structures to support cultural and linguistic competency as essential approaches in the goal to eliminate disparities; and building the NCCC into a nationally and internationally recognized and award winning program.
